Tooth Extraction (Part II)

Today we are going to keep talking about that very common and avoided dental procedure: Tooth Extraction.

As we mentioned on our previous post, Tooth Extraction is not a painful procedure and should be taken care very seriously. On our last post, I gave some general information that should be helpful for all of us. So today I’m sharing some other information that I’m sure you’ll find it very interesting and helpful.

WHAT KIND OF TOOTH NEEDS TO BE REMOVED?

1. Tooth extraction is relative opposite to other treatment. According to the skills of the dentist, many teeth can be repaired and regained to their function. Situations where it is necessary a tooth extraction.

a) When any other treatment can't be done due to an advanced condition of periodontal disease.

b) When the teeth can't be repaired due to severe dental caries. But if the teeth root and gums situation is good, it is also possible to use a dental crown or overdenture so it's not necessary a tooth extraction.

c) When it is not possible a root canal treatment or other root or gums treatments.

d) Dental trauma due to injuries or subgingival fracture or root fracture that can't be repaired. Bones fractures on the line of the tooth must be treated according to every patients situation, because sometimes it is possible to preserve the teeth.

e) Shifting or impacted teeth if they affect the function or appearance of the mouth, if they cause sickness or traumatism, are usually extracted.

f) Impacted tooth causing dental caries or pericoronitis to the adjacent tooth, are usually extracted.

g) Supernumerary tooth that are malpositioned or affecting the function or appearance of other teeth should be extracted.

(Other treatments that require tooth extraction: Ortodontics treatments that require reduction of the number of teeth; for a proper restauration of some teeth, sometimes it is necessary to extract neighboring teeth; before radiation treatments to avoid a complication of the situation of already sick teeth; teeth with benign tumors or cyst)

Detained milk teeth must be extracted, however, in the adult dentition of deciduous teeth, below the non-permanent or permanent impacted, such as deciduous and there is no loosening function, it is not necessary to remove the teeth.

Teeth suspected of having certain dental diseases should also be extracted. Infected teeth causing local diseases such as mandibular osteomyelitis, maxillary sinus lessions, etc, should be urgently brought under control and when the acute inflammation or infection is controled, then the dentist should proceed to the tooth extraction.

Qinghai and Gansu Tour

On September 28th in the evening, my dog "Duo Duo", my good friend Hero and me took a plane to Xinnin. We joined a group of 17 other people from "Green Travel" club to Gansu, Qinghai

Our trip coincided with the second day of the Hui minority festival "Eid al-Fitr" (the Festival of Fast-breaking). At 8 in the morning the ceremony began. In the mosque chanting people started arriving, the people kneel to pray the first ...

I took lovely pictures of the beautiful Qinghai Lake Oh ..... what a strong sunshine and low bushes ...

We were listening to the music in the car along the road, everybody laughing in singing, Staring at the basin.

We also stopped by the Delhi and go Caka Salt Lake on the road .....

At the Mingsha mountain, my friend Hero and me took some people .... a lot of people think we were particularly funny. I can only admire my her, she is very interesting when she is being herself. She placed the camera properly, and quicle went in front of the camera to POSE. She took the trouble of repeating the same action, until the perfect photo shoot came. ... seriously very cute.

At the Mogao Caves we can not take pictures. We absolutely loved the exquisite patterns.

When we arrived to Yumen we were cold and hungry. Wind like a knife was hurting us. First we couldn't find the village, then we couldn't find any shop, It is no wonder that in the ancient times, here was a well-known prisoners decentralization place ....

When I first climbed to the pinnacle of 71 glaciers, the feeling was amazing .... the sky seemsed to meet the pole at your fingertips, stroking the tip of the lofty sun. The most complete Central glaciers, like the sky falling waterfall. .. there was a heavy wind, I found a rock to wait for the the arrival of the rest of the people. At a twinkling of an eye, I saw I pure-white Hada stone over my head, which I took like a very asupicious sign... and then a miracle happened, the wind stopped, and so did the cold...a feeling of happiness and harmony filled my whole body... I was standing on the ground, I could listen to the loud singing of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Tibetan traditional dances .. the sun as an extremely kind-hearted grandfather, smiled at me ... I can not explain all of that, I just felt happy

... facing the sun, with devout heart, I thought about the interesting pure-white hada stone .... In that moment I was thinking then my parents, God, Buddha, they were all present on my mind. At that moment I feel that they were the same person on my ...

I also visited the Tar Temple and the mosque in Xining, I have been addicted to the Hui minoritty traditions. A girl selling headscarfs told me that white was a very nice color, with a good meaning and that it suited me very good. I think she was right...

People who live in Xining thought I was a very spiritual person so they recommended me a few books on Buddhism. Visiting the glacier there was a peculiar experience that I always thought it was fascinating, since I have always interested in history . So after coming back from the trip I read those books and considered that whole trip experience finished...

A Little Bit of Dentistry

Since one of the goals of my blog is to introduce you to different topics of dentistry, I think it's just right to introduce you briefly to a new tendency on dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry.
I'll explain in a few words, the main difference between traditional General Dentistry and Cosmetic Dentistry.

Traditional dentistry focuses mainly on oral hygiene, as well as preventing, diagnosing and treating oral diseases. On the other hand, cosmetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of a person's teeth, mouth and smile.

We could say that restorative, general and family dental practices solve dental problems that require necessary treatments, while cosmetic dentistry provides elective -or desired treatments or services.

Just until a few months ago, I thought people just go to the dentist because they are in pain, or need a filling, a root canal treatment or some other kind of restorative treatment, but since working at Joinway Dental, I've learnt a lot and I've seen how more and more patients are walking into the clinic asking today for cosmetic surgery.

Then I realized that it actually makes sense, people are looking really hard every day to boost their self-steem, people worry about personal appearance now more than a few decades ago.
A beautiful smile, with sparkling white teeth and perfectly healthy mouth can make a very lasting impression on people around us, and can make us all very happy and confident.

So, although we have a very old concept of dentistry, I encourage you all to try some basic procedures so you can feel better and happy and make people around you happy.

If you have tried any kind of cosmetic dental treatment or if you have any information or questions about the topic, you are welcome to leave your comments on our comments section.
